In the Hawaiian language IMUA means, “moving forward; going ahead; looking to the future.” The IMUA Ukulele is the result of years of planning and the next step in the life of Shinji and Jorma. IMUA Ukuleles use Hawaiian craftsmanship and efficient Japanese production techniques to manufacture high quality ukuleles that will last for generations.
We welcome you to our state of the art 6,000 SF operation in the heart of Honolulu in the Kaka’ako district just steps from Ward and Ala Moana Shopping Centers

Special care is taken to match Top, Back and Sides. The fingerboard is A-grade Indian rosewood; the nut and saddle are real bone. Hilo Strings are the preferred choice for IMUA. Necks are made with Genuine Honduras Mahogany. Tuners are high-quality, Japanese-made Gotoh.

IMUA Ukuleles top, back, sides, and headplate use only Hawaiian koa found on the upper slopes of the Big Island of Hawaii. Through our sister company, Winkler Woods LLC, IMUA Ukulele has access to the highest quality koa available and takes special care in every process of the wood manufacturing, from cutting quartersawn lumber, to set selection, to controlled drying.
